Daily Vocabulary ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Daily Vocabulary Android application handles information when you use it.
Daily Vocabulary does not collect, transmit, or store any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, or phone number.
The app stores the following data locally on your device only, using on-device storage (MMKV):
This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
The app integrates the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy practices:
Android Text-to-Speech (TTS)
When you tap to hear a word's pronunciation, the word text is passed to the Android operating system's built-in TTS engine. This processing happens locally on your device. We do not send audio data to any server.
Expo Notifications / Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
To deliver daily reminder notifications, the app uses Expo's notification service, which relies on Firebase Cloud Messaging. A device-level push token is generated by FCM. This token is used solely to route notifications to your device and is not linked to any personal identity. We do not store or share these tokens. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy.
Supabase
The app may connect to Supabase to fetch vocabulary content (words, definitions, examples). This is a one-way read request — no user data is sent to or stored in Supabase. Supabase's privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy.
All user-generated data (bookmarks, progress, preferences) is stored exclusively on your device using MMKV, a high-performance on-device key-value store. We have no server-side access to this data.
Uninstalling the app will permanently remove all locally stored data from your device.
Daily Vocabulary is suitable for users of all ages. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). Since we collect no personal information from any user, this applies equally to all age groups.

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
